About Taz

  • For the last ten years Jim Taszarek has provided seminars, consulting, new revenue and management systems to radio and television groups, stations and and newspapers in the US, Canada and Europe.
  • For the ten years before that, Taz was Vice-President & General Manager of KTAR and K-Lite in Phoenix. Starting in high school he worked as a DJ, then radio & television stations in St. Louis, Miami, Cincinnati and Kansas City, rising through the ranks of AE, Sales Manager and GM. For four years he was Chief Revenue Officer of American City Business Journals - managing the sales staffs of sixteen newspapers.   
  • He's a past member of the Board of both the National Association of Broadcasters and the Radio Advertising Bureau. He's helped raise millions for civic & charitable organizations. He's past President of the Cronkite Foundation at Arizona State University, two-term President of the Phoenix Ad Club, elected Phoenix Ad Person of the Year, chaired a capital campaigns for the Salvation Army and was co-founder of Phoenix Suns Charities.   
  • He holds a Bachelor's Degree from St. Louis University, an MBA from Webster University, St. Louis, and served as a US Navy Lieutenant. He's been married "forever", has three children and eight grandchildren.
